    Default Eurasian Cuckoo

    Eurasian Cuckoo breeds in Northern Mountains of India in summer and it is scare winter visitor to central India in winter.
    Clicked on September, 2016......Damodar River bank, Barddhaman, West Bengal
    Camera: Canon EOS 600D & Lens : Sigma 150-600 mm
    Focal Length: 600 mm

    Lovely sighting. Good eye contact. Did it take-off after this photograph was taken? If its a crop a bit more space on top and bottom would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

    Good to see this. Without the other bamboo in the background this would have looked better. From which side have you cropped this image?

    Rare and lovely image.
    Eurasian/Common-cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) has not been seen by me for long in my village at Bagnan, Dist. Howrah (downstream Damodar river), you have seen it upstream (north-west). Commonly heard in my village during winter nights, is call 'Pee-kahan, pee-kahan' of Common Hawk-cuckoo (Hierococcyx varius).
