The unprecedented pollution in Delhi is choking its estimated 16 million population. The Delhi Government has now announced that All Schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next three days. And most importantly construction and demolition work will be banned for the next 5 days. We had earlier raised the issue of the pollution due to construction, but the authorities had turned a blind eye. http://www.indiawilds.com/diary/indi...l-7-issue-xii/
Good to see that finally the Government is atleast talking some sense, even though it is way too late.

The Delhi Govt. has also ordered that all diesel generators will be banned for 10 days except for hospitals. The polluting badarpur power plant will also be closed for 10 days and no fly ash will be transported from the Badarpur Power Plant. Vacuum cleaning of roads which were promised to be done from march will now be started from 10th of November. Sprinkling of water on roads will start from 7th November.

Unless there is rain or winds, the cloud of toxic pollution will remain over Delhi and NCR region. We are being cooked. In these times #RightToCleanAir needs to be our fundamental right, as no amount of money can buy you health.

Wonder when the ruling party at the Centre and their allies in Punjab will wake up.
