    Default The snout-y one

    ID: juv Green Vine snake

A rare encounter, atleast for me in this trail, with this small beauty, a highly active juv vine snake. It was trying its level best to evade the alien, that it probably saw in me, and kept itself amongst the most densest of the bushes, making it difficult to frame it.

It is also called as 'Long-nose Vine Snake (Ahaetulla nasuta). Two prominent features the long nose and the horizontal pupil is visible clearly in this image. Was it possible to get a little lower angle? Thanks for sharing.

Lovely large golden yellow eyes with horizontal pupil. It is mildly venomous, fangs located at the back of upper jaw, beneath the eyes. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild
