Short-eared owl.
Just back from LRK and what a trip I've had.
Some amazing sighting of Short-eared owl , Indian fox , Peregrine and merlin were the highlight.
This particular bird initially was perched in a dense cluster but after some time flew and perched on ground in open and that's when I got an opportunity to captured him comfortably.
Canon EOS 7D M II , Canon 500mm f/4 L IS USM , @700mm , f/5.6 , 1/500 , ISO-640 , Hand held , lying on ground.

Always a photogenic bird. Very nicely taken. The habitat and the herb-like plant at the left are nice additions.

The low angle looks nice. Most of the times the owl doesn't move and remains still, except for the movement of the eyelids. However, with sound of footsteps it moves away. Thanks for sharing.
