    Default Smithia Hirsute _Enroute Lavasa

    Hello Friends,

Encountered this beautiful bright yellow flower while returning from Lavasa on 17th August 2015. This was solitary yellow flower of it's kind standing tall amidst greenery and attracting attention. I could not see any other flower of this species near by & was surprised as to how this is the only one. Normally I have seen species of this kind growing in a vast area.

EXIF : Canon550D, Tamron 90mm VC, f/5.6, Tv:1/400, EC +1, No Flash, Full Frame. PP in LR 5.7

Nice image. In Marathi this is called as 'Kavala'. It is found in abundance on the Kaas Plateau near Satara. I feel a vertical composition would have also looked good. Thanks for sharing.

Also called Micky Mouse . Kaas gets covered with them, top to bottom. Nice to see them here.

Very nice. Clicking these flowers is always a challenge as the slightest of the breeze makes them sway for a long time. I would like -1/3 EC. However, if there was any way to avoid the top right dark corner then that would have been even better. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
