    Default Minimalist-ic

Spotted this dried flower stuck on the web, fluttering in the breeze, trying to break free. The scene seemed really interesting and tried my level best to avoid any form of distractions, maintaining a very minimalist approach.

Why such a shallow DoF? The 50mm should provide a greater DoF than the 100mm at f5.6, when focused at a similar distance. This looks like much less than life-size, so I'm guessing you were a good distance away.
Is this the effect of the Raynox? I've heard of it but have no idea how it functions. There seems to be some optical quality loss at the flower tips. I am not a fan of adding extra optics in a lens' path... If you wanted to go macro with the 50mm, then I would have suggested either extension tubes or reverse-mounting it.
    Where's your 100mm? I miss it.

Had seen quiet a few of macro shots with 50mm and Raynox, so was experimenting with it. The lower DOF may be due to the Raynox, though I had tried out a range of shots right from f/3.2, which werent that good, so tried out at 5.6 which seemed much better. Preferred Raynox over extension tubes due to the ease in usage.
100mm is enjoying some resting period, got it serviced, had some auto focus issues and also havent been doing much Macro, will get back to it once the monsoon of 2017 starts off...
