    Default Malayan Giant Squirrel - Manas

    The black giant squirrel or Malayan giant squirrel (Ratufa bicolor) are large tree squirrel. The species falls under Near Threatened in IUCN Red list.

    Nice capture Debasis da..I like your Manas series..I think focus has been locked behind the Squirrel..Photography is very difficult in Manas...I visit this forest in regular basis and I think only patience (enormous) can produce a decent image...after more than hundred safaris and trek I have only 50 to 60 decent wildlife images from Manas..in that way I think it will take 5 to 6 years more to complete my book on Manas...

    Manas is my love..so always I get excited seeing an image from there...

    Great to see this species. Like Sakti da has mentioned, the tail looks long. Difficult to shoot as one has to often point the camera up and the subject is darker than the background. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice sighting. The flowers make the background interesting. I feel a more rectangular framing would have been good. Thanks for sharing.
