Giant Scavenger of Himalayas
Himalayan Griffon Vulture is now categorized as Near-Threaten Species in India. In my recent trip to Shimla - Manali, Himachal Pradesh (22nd Feb to 3rd March, 2017) I observed that bird of prey several times in the sky. In the River Valley of Beas in Manali to Rothang Highway, their population was more than number 20, sitting on the river bed and branches. I have strongly recommended others to go there to see this majestic scavenger in close association with nature.
