Default Let us hope for Manas

Again the sound of gunshots in Manas...A fresh operation against NDFB (S) extremist has just started at Western range (Panbari range) from 11th April by Indian Army..We are deeply worried for the wildlife there...

Just came back from Manas yesterday with a disturbed mind..You can see the herd of Wild water Buffalo at the western bank of river Beki..the tree line behind the herd is a part of western range where the gunfire started..

Presently Water buffalo census in Manas is going on...What can we do in this situation!!

Let us hope for wildlife..Let us appeal to every stack-holders to isolate the extremists from common people..let us ensure more forest oriented employment of villagers..Let us hope for Manas..

Wild Manas with its truly wild Buffalo. The buffalo at centre is very tall, may be somewhere near 6 feet or so. Love to see both types of horns in one frame : One (grazing) with the semi-circular horns curving upwards, the Other (looking straight to Samrat Bhai) with the horns sweeping out from head sideways with shallow curve. Beautifully captured. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Beautiful landscape. I think as the light is a bit harsh, there are some highlights in the white areas and some loss of details in the blacks. Liked the position of the two buffaloes in the centre. Will like to see the colour version as well to compare . Thanks for sharing.

Let's hope for the best. Wildlife and common people are always the fist victims in any armed conflict.

Unfortunately in the conflicts insurgents have taken to wildlife traffic. It is very lucrative to sell skin and bones and earn lakhs of rupees.

You have left some green in the image. It would have been great if all the buffaloes were at the front. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
