Default Scarlet minivet, Male - in Maredumilli, Eastern Ghats

Canon SX60 HS, 1/160, f/6.5, 247 mm, ISO-125. Basic PP in GIMP, Full Frame
Clicked in Maredumilli, Eastern Ghats on 10th Apr, 2016.

I have already written about this trip when I posted Emerald Dove and Shama. This bird kept on alluring us for three days, with its blinding reflections under hot summer sun.
We had left our cottage, and then my wife remembered that she had forgotten her watch, we came back and to our surprise this beauty was perched on a tree right in front of the cottage. My hands became shaky but the bird was magnanimous enough to ensure that I got a decent click.

Nice. I sometime feel astonished how the male and female got so distinctive colours! Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Striking colours. A slight off-centered composition would strengthen the composition further. Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting. Generally the bright colours have a tendency to overexpose if one is not careful. In this image the birds head is slightly turned away from the sunlight. Also, since the head is black, it would have been better if it was closer to the branch so that it would have been well lit. Reducing the satuation would help the yellow channel. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
