    Default Oriental Pratincole

Birds have an amazing power to adjust themselves in various weather conditions. They have evolved it by their own effort. 'Osmoregulation' is one of those process through a bird can balance the osmotic pressure in their body fluid. This is a regular process for the birds who often visit or stay or live in coastal area and desert area. But its very rare behaviour for Oriental Pratincole who seldom visit those particular areas... I'll share my observations about their 'Salt secretion' behaviour as a part of 'Osmoregulation' soon in Natural history section. This is first time that 'salt secretion' behaviour has been photographed in wild for Oriental Pratincole from Indian subcontinent.

Good you could observe this behaviour and capture it. Nice low angle. I feel a more rectangular framing would have been better here than the present square one. Look forward to the full post. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful image. The backlighting has been handled well. Interesting documentation of a natural biological phenomenon.
