Default The watchful eyes of the bark

    ID: Bark Mantis

While we were busy framing this beauty, it decided to stop posing for the cam and went off abruptly and disappeared from the spot. The level of camouflage was so good that none of us could spot it, but only after a long search finally could spot those two massive eyes popping through the dense texture of the wood.

Agree it is so well camouflaged, can be very difficult to spot. Even the eyes have same colour/design . Liked the low DoF use here, to only get the head/eyes is focus. I am not sure, is the AF point locked on the antenna's? Thanks for sharing.

Interesting angle. If the flash would have been lower, then it would have been even better. The depth of field is so shallow, it often becomes difficult to get the critical focus. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
