    Default Rhino Mother and calf

Photographed this in Kaziranga in my last visit a few years back. This was taken from the elephant back during the early morning safari. They were very close for my 100-400mm lens, so had trouble composing to include them both fully. Not sure what had caused those wounds, maybe some fight .

    Canon 1D Mark IV, Canon 100-400mm L IS lens, f/5, 1/30, ISO 800, 100 mm.

    Comments and critiques welcome.

This was one amazing sighting. Any other species with such deep lacerations would perhaps not have been so cool and allowing its offspring to suckle. Light was very low. So at 1/30 from elephant back, the sharpness is good.

Nice image from the beautiful jungles of Kaziranga. The deep gashes on the Rhino no doubt is part and parcel of jungle strife and survival. Thanks for sharing.
