    Default Common Woodshrike

This beautiful Common Woodshrike (Tephrodornis pondicerianus) was photographed at Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary near Pune. A tiny 5.14 sq km area this sanctuary is beautiful, although degraded in large parts.

Nikon D800, 80-400G. It's a shy bird so trtying to adjust my position to get a clear view made it fly away.

Nice sighting. Its good you got its eye in the clear. Slight off-centered composition would have enhanced the composition further. Where is the sanctuary near Pune? Thanks for sharing.

the twigs are too overpowering and distracting for an off centre composition. Mayureshwar is about 67 km from Pune near Supe.

Most of the concave branches are framing the bird fine except for the out of focus branch cutting the bird near its chest. It is always tough to click these tiny birds and get a composition without distracting elements. I haven't been to Mayureshwar. 67kms from Pune is fine. May be sometime in the winter it would be a good place to visit while going to Pune. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

PS: There seems to be a dust spot on the right
