Default Crested Serpent Eagle - Bandipur

Crested Serpent Eagle - Spotted in Bandipur. The raptor was the only fruitful spotting on a otherwise boring safari van. The spotting was late that the vehicle came to halt right below the tree where the bird was resting.. couldn't avoid the side perch in the frame.

    Nikon D3100, Lens- Sigma 150-500mm @220mm, ISO 200, Aperture - f/10, Shutter speed - 1/60s

It is good that the branch is not blocking the eyes. But it would have been good if you would have asked the driver to move a bit behind to get a better angle. A more proportional crop including the tail feathers would have strengthened the composition further.

You could have used a wider aperture like f7.1 or f8 so that would have helped to get more shutter speed. Also increasing the ISO to 400 would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

The image looks soft probably due to both cropping and low shutter speed. How much of a crop is this? Why don't you post the original composition, so that we can comment on that. There is a slight greenish tint to the image. Thanks for sharing.
