A wider composition would have been better here. How much of a crop is this? Cropping puts more pressure on the image and any issue can get magnified. Critical focus or the lack of it can immediately become apparent in a cropped image. You could have also zoomed in to 600mm.
The crop here is neither vertical nor horizontal. Our eyes are used to the 35mm proportion. Any deviation raises the question as to why it was done and there should be a solid reason for it. So if cropping is a must, then a proportionate would be the way to go. Thanks for sharing.
