ID: Pagoda ants?

Came across this interesting sight, not sure what exactly was happening, but it seemed like a bunch of ants carrying a heavy carcass of an insect, across the web of a funnel web spider. Though the spider wasnt in view, but I am not sure if the ants were scavenging the spider's catch or just transporting a carcass through the web(as there wasnt any web binding the dead insect). The most interesting part was the ease in which the ants were traversing through the web.
