    Default Tiger in the Nullah

The light was quite poor when somebody in our vehicle stretched his neck an extra inch and saw this female tigress enjoying her siesta in a deep nullah which ran alongside the road. She was barely visible in the thick monsoon shrubbery.Nikon 750+70-200 ISO 640 1/400s F/3.2

Nice composition. Maybe a slightly higher ISO would help with a higher shutter speed for even more details. The low aperture has helped diffusing the plants on the foreground. Loved the framing and direct eye contact.

    Thanks for sharing

Nullah is a term used by Kenneth Anderson in his books often. His description of the geographical area he covered in search of Tigers are quite exhaustive and interesting. Also he roamed the same places where we see tigers normally in South India.....Nicely framed and good eye contact.Looks like it was in a passive mood!!

Less space on the right would have been nice as that would have ensured the right side to be completely out of focus and our eyes would have naturally gone to the tiger. So without that parthenium in the right would have been good. Where was this photographed?

This was photographed in the month of June in Kabini on the old Mysore Kerala highway presently part of the 'B' Zone.

Lovely eye contact. I think this is her favorite spot, for we too had spotted the tigress in the same area when we visited Kabini in July. But she immediately went into the bushes. We waited for a long time, circled the area, but still couldn't sight her . How long was the sighting? Thanks for sharing.
