The composition works for me. Since the bird is facing the photographer and is not sideways, the depth of field requirement is more. So a narrower aperture would have been even better. Thanks for sharing.

Nice ground level shot... But I have a doubt that ID of this bird. Not a common sandpiper to me...

Agree with Samrat regarding birds ID, It' a little stint. Nice low angle, looks good .
