ID: Double banded Judy (female?)
Stumbled upon this beauty, actually spotted by my colleague, the butterfly blended very well with the carpet of dried leaves and was hard to keep a trace on it once it flew off from one point to the other. The butterfly sat in its typical pose with its closed wings, though it seems partially closed due to the construction of its wings, and kept rotating in its position, generally by 180 degs, probably a defensive mechanism to evade or confuse the predators.
Though in general the Judy seemed very bland in its Dry Season From, on illuminating with the flash the beauty stood out in the brownish carpet.
