    Default The lurking predator

ID: Bark mantis/ Praying bark mantis

Attempted some unique frames with the bark mantis, which probably due to early morning, seemed too slow and rather kept itself almost flat onto the tree, which made it difficult to spot it on first sight. It almost went unnoticed by my colleague while he was looking out for some tiny, interesting subjects
Though at first it hardly was bothered by the close proximity of the lens and flash, later, may be due to the sun's light falling over, it started being more active and less squatted onto the tree trunk.

    EXIF:
    Canon 550D
    Canon 100mm macro + Raynox
    F/14
    Shutterspeed 1/125
    ISO 100
    Handheld, external flash remotely fired

    Location; Nagla trail, Mumbai, India

Nice. Different perspective. Wish you had got the antennaes fully in the frame. Thanks for sharing.

You attempted it really well. Really worth having a look at!
