Came across this beautiful specimen of the signature spider, with its exquisitely done X markings on the web. The spider seemed to have selected a low position off the trail, probably a location with good amount of catch.

The vertical composition works well to capture the X shaped net with the spider. Its good that the spider is facing you, as this angle helps to capture the eyes. You were already using ISO 500, but I think a slight higher shutter speed would have been good to get more details. Was is windy? Thanks for sharing.
