    Default Leopard in the greens

Still no black panther but no less beautiful this female was enjoying her late evening siesta on a cosy bough, while a heavy drizzle dampened our feeling of elation, at having spotted her.The sky was dark and the atmosphere was gloomy.I had to hike the ISO to 4000 to get a decent image . Nikon D850+150-600, F/8,1/200s ,June2018 .

Nice image. I like the pose. It is watching someone. The tonality of the blacks in its body merges with that of the bark in many places providing it with the camouflage that it deserves.

Want to see a wider version of this image which would depict the habitat better. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Loved the alert look. Nice long whiskers. Seems something suddenly caught her attention. Was it some gypsy? The high ISO has helped with the details. Nice composition. Thanks for sharing.

    Lovely composition.
This fully grown leopard falls in ' small panthers' club'. Large variation in size of Leopard may be observed in the same forest. In our childhood a lot of arguments took place as to whether leopard and panther were same. Now accepted as same.

I love to see leopard and capture on the tree , though have never got one for myself.
This image again reminds me of my pending wish.
Excellent image , at 4000 ISO you still manage to get away with decent low noise in the image.

Beautiful picture of the Leopard on the tree, Shyamalaji. Those big beautiful eyes have taken an interest to something as Sabyasachi mentioned. Her ears are focusing too to figure out the situation. The curved tail looks nice and you have included it in the frame to show her in full. Thanks for sharing.
