Ruddy Shelduck Chilika
This image of Ruddy Shelduck is from Chilika Lake. Dug up my older images from this lake as we are trying to ward off a threat to Chilika's ecosystem from the hand of man.
Shot with my previous camera Canon EOS 1D Mark IV, EF 400 2.8 f2.8 L IS II USM lens with 2xII TC, f6.3, full frame image.

We use to call it 'Brahminy duck', nice picture!

Yes you are right. In India we often call it as Brahminy duck. Scientific name: Tadorna ferruginea

Lovely take-off pose captured. Haven't got a chance to visit Chilika Lake till now. Hopefully I will be able to go there, before any harm is done through upcoming development projects. Thanks for sharing.

great shot ! could never get used to 400mm 2.8. had tried a few times ..felt one needs to be a 'bahubali' to work with that demon.
