    Default Closeup of Tiger

This picture is from my archives. I made this in Oct2015 in Tadoba and the intent here is to share how close a tiger can get to humans. While many of you must have experienced this, for me, I have always been amazed at the close proximity of tigers with vehicles/humans in some parts of the country. Shyness has become a luxury, unfortunate as it seems.

Wonderful to have you back and also you valuable comments . . Nice details . One only hopes that close proximity between human s and this supreme predator evolvs into better understanding rather than clashes. Thanks for sharing .

Watching a tiger in the wild is always a special feeling. Without any vegetation obstructing its head, this image looks very nice. The apex predator moving within the vegetation silently and swiftly is something to be savoured. Even with soft soled shoes we make sound while trekking but the supreme predator is well designed to do it silently. The coat of the tiger is so beautiful. Have never touched a live tiger. However, I feel the coat of the tiger would be smoother than any fine silk that women love to showcase. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Thanks for your comments Saktida, Shyamalaji and Sabyasachi.

Shyamalaji: Thanks for making me feel welcome again. I have always felt a connection here at Indiawilds and keep coming back albeit my long absences. It is here after all that I learned about photography, got my first good dslr almost 10 yrs back and got an opportunity to share and learn about our jungles and its inhabitants.

Sabyasachi :Absolutely concur with you, there isn't a more magnificent species than the tiger. Even in the hindu vedic tradition the tiger has great importance and often a dead tiger's skin would be used as asan for sadhana. The animal would not be killed for traditional use, but only a dead animal (due to natural circumstances) would be used in rituals and sadhana. No silk can ever replace the beauty and brilliance of the tiger's skin. I am still ok if men and women prefer silk, atleast the tiger can be spared from fashion. When my mother saw the silk making process in kanchipuram 2 decades back she vowed to not wear a silk saree ever, and she kept her word till she moved on from this existence.

Welcome back. Its good that you can again take out time to pursue your hobby/passion . Tadoba has become so crowded these days, that the animals have become used to humans/gypsies and come close .

We had a similar experience in Ranathambore, when the tigress (T17) was walking on the road and one of the gypsy while overtaking other one went so close to the tigress, that the tigress was startled and nearly got hit. Nice composition and good details. Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.
