Default Skimmers from Satkosia Tiger Reserve

I had captured this image few years ago in Satakosia tiger reserve while boating. There were a large flock of skimmers. I had not expected them to be in the river sand bar. They flew close and I had no way of capturing the flock without cutting body parts of some of them.
1D Mark IV, 800mm, f6.3, full frame image. Handheld.

The orange bill and the black cap provides a nice contrast with the white body. Good details even while handholding from the boat. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, we can understand! It's difficult to capture the huge flocks. But, you have done it nicely!

I have always been fascinated by the beaks of skimmers, they are so asymmetrical and yet add the beauty of color and vibrancy to the bird. Challenging to get a picture like this as one can easily get confused due to the unpredictable movement of the birds. Thanks for sharing.

The foreground birds seem to be a saving grace from the background ones flying away at an angle. So nice to see the darks and whites exposed well, even the eyes are clearly visible.
