Default Grey Francolin on a morning walk-Bandipur

It was past 8 during our morning safari in Bandipur on the 1st of January,2019. The jungle was quite active with a lot of movement, as we kept moving in our gypsy this francolin crossed the path in front of us with its mate. Unnerved by our presence it took its own sweet time to cross and nonchalantly looked back at us as we proceeded ahead. Loved the way it blended with the surroundings.

Normally it is a shy bird and runs while crossing the road. Lucky that you got time to photograph it. I have still not got a decent photograph of it . Liked the eye contact. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Generally they run away at the slightest provocation. At times I have got this bird close while waiting for tiger in Ranthambhore. The moment you get down from vehicle they scatter away fast. So difficult to get them during treks. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful bird it is! I agree with Disha, the bird looks shy! The color combination of Gray and Brown also looks great on this Francolin!
