    Default Shielded copulation

    ID: Shield bug mating pair

A close up shot of the mating pair of the shield bug. These beauties had taken refuge onto the bamboo plant, along the trail, which was spotted by my colleague. The interesting bit was the presence of the mite on the underbody of one of the bug, seen on the right side of the frame.

Interesting. I initially could not spot the mite. It is on the underside (between the rear legs) on the right? Very minute observation required . Thanks for sharing.

To be frank even I didnt spot the mite, as in the original image, there was a lot of shadows. It was only after my colleague pointed out, while he was checking his frame, luckily for me, I could recover a bit of the details from the shadow area and hence a hint of it can be seen in this frame

Tough to spot it even now. In the field with bright light and in the small LCD, it won't be easy to spot. Is this a crop? If so, I would like to see wider. I am not sure if this kind of composition would be of interest to all. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
