Default The flame of the city

    ID: African tuliptree(Spathodea campanulata)

One of the diverse species of the summer flowering trees, these beauties bring in the colour and vibrance to the urban cityscape, especially in the months of extreme heat. Also known locally as pichkari, probably due to the high water content in the flowering pods, which squirt out water like a pichkari, these attract a range of birds as well as butterflies, also bringing in liveliness in the surroundings. The design of the tower, in the background, brought out the unique background feel to the frame.

I was wondering what is in the background. Later read your post. What kind of tower is that? At what time did you click this flower? It would have been better if the Sun was behind your shoulder and at a lower angle. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Nice bright reddish-orange flowers. An exotic species. This tree is just infront of my home, so I get a chance to observe it through out the year . As you have said, lot of birds like Coucals, Asian Koel, Parakeets, Mynas, coppersmith barbett, etc visit it helping in pollination. Thanks for sharing.

Quite Interesting one. The closeup shows each and every species on the flower. It's color, texture, etc. Loved the Shot.

@Sabyasachi Sir, This was clicked for a photo challenge, and was almost an after thought, so couldnt plant the frame, had to utilize the moment.
The tower is actually a residential complex(Tropical Lagoon) and has a unique external facade, the lighting on the moment aided in getting the wavy pattern
