    Default Egyptian Vulture sharpening beak

    This Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus sharpening its beak. They are also known as Pharaoh's Chicken.

    Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, EF 2xII, ISO 400, f8, 1/200 sec.

    The image is nice... It is a bit tight in my opinion though... the 1.4 TC perhaps?

    Agreed that it is tight. 1.4 Tc would have given more space all around. I had not anticipated that it would rub its beak on the rock. I had put on the 2x to get tight portraits.

    It was difficult for me to use the 2x and fit it into the image without accidentally cutting off a portion of the bird. Ofcourse the 2x gives the details of the rubbing effect better.

    Good action. Liked the sharpness and the angle. The BG is nice. The dark green compliments the bird.

    Dont know, how I missed posting this photograph earlier. Will check :-)
