    Lovely sighting of this young calf besides its mother. Love the skin textures. I feel a more proportional vertical framing would enhance the composition further. How is the situation in Manas? Hope they live peacefully and prosper in the coming years. Thanks for sharing.

    With deeply folded thick skin studded with rivet-like tubercles on shoulder, flank and hindquarters, the image gives an impression of a prehistoric mammal, which is mostly true. The baby has occupied unique position in the image.

    @Mrudil ji, only main road toward Bhutan is open now. water has been entered into lowland of Manas. Till date no casualty of Rhino, elephant or Gaur.

    Great to see this image of a rhino mother and child. The details on the armour plate like hide of the rhino has come out well. These animals were also mentioned in the mahabharata. Thanks for sharing.

    Mention of Rhino in Mahabharat is news for me!......I must find out where?!
