    Default Busy laying the future

    ID: Common cerulean

Stumbled upon this fluttering beauty busy rounding around the fresh leaves of a small plant. Something seemed a bit odd about its behavior, only on close observation we realized that the butterfly was actually looking around for a right place to lay its egg, rightly pointed out by my colleague Anil Kumar Verma Sir, usually on the tip of fresh leaves. The same can be seen in the frame, where the angel had already laid one egg on the leaf in front of it and the second one just a few mm from the fresh stem of the new branch. It later continued looking for a new plant, just a few metres away from this plant, while taking brief break staying kaput on the leaf of another neighboring tree

Nice image. You were able to capture the moment well. The side profile of the butterfly helps in depth of field covering it. I guess you kept the ISO low to get less noise during cropping? Else, a you could have got a higher shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.

Nice behavior photographed. So it doesn't lay all the eggs on one leaf? Is the white circle on the top of the leaf, the egg? Good spotting by Anilji, it really requires very minute observations. Thanks for sharing.
