This is from Nalsarovar bird sanctuary near Ahmadabad, Gujarat. I visited this place early this year.
The eye is partially visible through the reeds. It is tough to position and shoot to ensure that the complete eye is visible. Though it is far off, we generally don't click images of nesting birds for fear of disturbance to the bird.
If you get close to the nest it would disturb the bird but this is from a considerable distance. I was on a boat at that time and it is not possible to get the perfect look of the bird let alone its eyes, especially through the thick marsh growth. This also shows its true habitat.

Nice display of the habitat. The thick vegetation gives it a nice cover to nest, protecting the young ones from possible harm. Liked the composition.

Nice post Sundar ji. I like the nesting habitat shot of Grey Heron. Grey Herons mainly breed in colonies, sometimes in mixed colonies. Salim Ali wrote " Rarely tall dense reed beds are used. Nest , a platform of twigs with a central depression scantily lined with leaves, straw, and water-weeds."
So, from natural history view point this post is important and depicts a rare nesting behaviour.
I also agree with Sabyasachi da. Breeding is the most important and essential part in a bird's life. I went through a nice write-up about photographing bird's nesting long days ago in this forum.
