Default Ready for the invisible ambush

ID: Can you spot the predator?

While traversing the wintery, dried up, trail spotted something suspicious on the dried up cockscomb flower. The predator had taken up a pose, of ambush, which with its almost camouflaging colours made it very difficult to spot in the beautiful specimen. It’s interesting how well these beauties blend into their surrounding, either thru camouflaging colours or posture, and the patience of them to wait in this pose until they catch the prey is really commendable.

    Canon 100mm macro

    Shutterspeed 1/125

Really very well camouflaged. I could spot it only due to its gold coloured bands . What species is this? The vertical composition looks good and also the stalk stands out nicely against the dark background. Thanks for sharing.
