    Default Against A Sunset

This huge male was resting on a mound ,in the fading light .From the corner of my eye I just thought that here is a rocky outgrowth that looked like a leopards head . In Nagerhole leopards are generally part of an arboreal landscape .So when I saw that it was actually a leopard I was surprised and excited .He continued sitting on the mound for a few more seconds before rising and melting into the shadows beyond .Nikon 850 +200-500 ISO 800 ,F/8 ,1/160s .Feb 2020 Nagarhole National Park .

Good spotting . Lovely close-up. Looks like an older male with some injury to the right ear? Is this full frame? I would love to see a wider composition if possible. Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully exposed against light. Never seen a leopard from so close. TFS

Great that you spotted it. Not sure about the purpose of the square crop though. What is the yellow background? Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

The trees behind were lit by the dying rays of the setting sun hence the golden color .
