    Default In its eco home

ID: Spitting spider with Egg sac

Spotted this beauty in its typical enclosure of a home, made out of curling a leaf, along with the egg sac. The spider seemed to stay kaput inside an, almost, drying up leaf, in the post monsoon trail, curious to know if these nursing spiders(I meant nursing spitting spiders) do venture out to catch the prey, or do they just rest inside, patiently until the babies start popping out, or waiting for unsuspecting prey that wanders next to its nest.

Such a big egg sac. The curling leaf looks nice. Was the leaf hanging by itself? I can see a small prey (ant?) has already entered its home on the lower left corner. So I think, it might be getting prey while sitting at home and protecting the egg sac. Good observation. Thanks for sharing.

P.S- I hope you too are staying at home. You can try doing photography around you (if possible) . Take care.

Pretty interesting. The leaf is nicely sewn. Look forward to more such behaviours. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
