We saw these herd of Gaurs at Tadoba from a distance crossing the road.By the time we came closer they started running for cover. They stopped at a safe distance!

Nice environmental composition. That helps to give an idea of the surroundings and also see the full herd, with a big bull and two calves. It seems they choose to get a bit far from the jeeps. Thanks for sharing.

The wider composition looks cool. Gives us a feeling of being there. In normal course they run away from humans. However, they can be aggressive. There have been reports of gaurs attacking Jeep, trees where the person has climbed etc. ERC Davidar recounts in his book how he was badly mauled by a gaur. No one would love to face the wrath of one ton rippling muscles and those solid horns. It is a testament of the power and cunningness of the tiger that such a massive animal is hunted.

    Cheers,
