Default Sundarbans: Changeable Hawk Eagle dark morph

This is from Sundarbans January trip. Unfortunately this one was against the light. This dark morph had caught a bird and was ripping it apart when we saw it.

Canon EOS 1DX Mark II, 800mm, f6.3, 1/3200, full frame image. The boat was a bit shaky and I was just not getting the right sharpness so I had to bump up the shutter speed.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Tough conditions for photographing a bird .However a raptor with a kill is always interesting . Still you did manage an eye contact .Thanks for sharing .

I remember, this was in the afternoon, with the light filtering through the leaves. It was perched on a branch in the shade, and with its dark colour it was difficult to expose properly. As it was settled with the kill, it gave us ample opportunity to come closer (limited as we were in the launch) and photograph to our hearts content . With the 800mm you get a pretty closer view. Good eye contact. Thanks for sharing.
