    Default Reading animal pug marks........fascinating!

Trying to understand pug marks is fascinating! There is not much difference between a Leopard and tiger pug mark except that the Tiger pug mark is bigger. The male Tigers pug mark are different from female in that the toes are more distantly places. For a female Tiger they are much closer. In male Tigers the Pug Mark Breadth(PMB) is longer than Pug Mark Length(PML).The shape of the toes in male Tigers are more rounded while a female Tiger's is elongated. Also there are differences between PML and PMB.

Based on the understanding this pug mark looks like of a female Tiger!

Agree it does look like a Female tigers pug marks. Jim Corbett had also explained two fundamental rules on how to determine the species of the animal that has made the track:
    - Animals who stalk their prey (tigers, leopards) have small toes as compared to their pads.
    - Imprint of the claws does not show in the tracks of animals that stalk their prey.

    Thanks for sharing.
