    Default Nilgiri Tahr

This Nilgiri Tahr is from my archives.

It was drizzling and there was lot of fog. Those days vehicles were allowed till the top of Eravikulam National Park. On the road we found this Nilgiri Tahr and I stopped down to click it from the ground level.

Canon 400f2.8 L IS USM lens at f2.8, 1/640 seconds, ISO 400, full frame image.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Nice image of only mountain goat of south. Unique horns have come up from back and have curved backwards and are wrinkled in a transverse fashion. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Nice pic of a Nilgiri Tahr......nice comments from Sakitiji as usual.....the recent tragedy of landslide happened near Eravikulam NP.The Nilgiri Tahrs are fascinating and mild animals who doesnt mind we getting closer to them.

The low angle gives a different perspective. The horns can be observed closely. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.
