Default A Large Herd of Gaurs!

This is from my archives......we saw these large no of Gaurs at Periyar Tiger Reserve during our boat trip! The boat never stopped for us to have a long time look! The pic was taken as the boat was moving.

Beautiful environmental composition. The herd with their white socks look nice in the bright sun. It shows that Periyar has a healthy number of Gaur population. Its good there is a strip of lake showing at the bottom. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

Great to see such a large herd of Gaurs . Never seen so many of them together with so many young, especially in the thick jungles of the south . Beautiful landscape nicely captured .Thanks for sharing .

Good to see a large herd of gaurs. This image lets us get a feel of the place. One can soak in the quiet of the place. The dead tree trunks jutting out of the water is typical Periyar. Thanks for sharing.

Beauty in abundance. Not a single one is 'low to ground' but gaurs with divergent and semi-circular horns are visible.
With such abundance of large prey Periyar (1973) did not come upto the expectation as a tiger reserve. Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Peacefully grazing and not being bothered by the presence of humans albeit at a distance, this image portrays the habitat and its inhabitants nicely. Thanks for sharing.
