    Default The way it drinks.

    ID: Stink bug

A close up shot of the, pretty big, stink bug, that seemed to have taken refuge on the garden tree sucking out the essential liquid matter for its survival. Infamous for their nasty stinking discharge, which they release, when under threat, these have a unique and dry-ish texture on its back, making it very difficult to spot amongst the bark of trees. It was interesting to observe the way its proboscis in work with the internal element (would be helpful if anyone knows the term for that part of the proboscis) curled out towards the front side, almost resembling some sort of awkward growth.

The way it has folded its proboscis is interesting. How much of a crop is this? How long was it there when you were clicking? Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Good details. Liked the low angle. Such minute observation required to understand these beauties and their behavior. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure how long it was there before I spotted it, but it was hardly bothered by me approaching it so close, and kept on sipping
