Default Lying low with future family

    ID: Oxyopes(Lynx spider)

One of the resident predators in our society’s garden, this has been seen feeding on the Nomad bees and other visitors that keep on flying by to nectar on the periwinkle flowers. For few days I couldn’t spot it around, atleast not with any prey, only to spot it resting underneath the periwinkle plant’s leaf, almost invisible to the usual line of sight. The reason for remaining out of sight was the egg sac that it had laid on the tipoff the leaf. It kept itself close to the future generation and tried to keep itself out of vision, probably to avoid getting disturbed. The unusual location, called for an unusual approach for framing the beauty along with its egg sac.

Good details. Its difficult to photograph by turning the leaf upside down. Nice eye contact. It will be nice to see once the young ones come out. Thanks for sharing.

Looks very interesting. This angle is tough to shoot, as the broad leaf ensures that the head of the spider will not be within the depth of field. So slightly moving to your left and angling the camera towards the subject may have been better. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
