    Default Sirkeer Malkoha.

Nikon P900, 1/320 , F5.6 , ISO 400. Cropped from bottom and left to enhance the composition. PP in Adobe Lightroom.

Clicked on 28 March, 2021 at Amarabad Tiger Reserve

This specimen gave me ample time to shoot and was quite close by. When we left it was still sitting on the perch.

Beautiful eye contact. Nice to see it perched in the open. As you had time to frame, I feel a vertical composition would have strengthened the image further. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.

Good that you got a clear shot of the bird. Whenever there is side lighting the form of the subject comes out well. However, you don't get that catchlight in the eye. Were you shooting from a vehicle or on feet? When your subject is cooperative, then better to try and create different compositions. Wide shot, extreme wide, mid with subject in different areas to see which composition works well. Not always one can move the vehicle or shift position. If possible without disturbing the subject, then it can be tried after getting the main shots and with abundant caution.

Also, one should remember to enjoy the sighting. Too often photographers robotically photograph the subject. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Thank you Mrudul ma'am and Sabyasachi sir for viewing and sharing your views. A vertical composition is one thing I forgot. Sabyasachi sir I was shooting from a car. I did get a close up and will post it.
