Photographed this in Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. It was flying around and coming and feeding its chick. The light was not good as it was perched in thick vegetation. Photographed it from quite a distance so as to not disturb the birds.

Canon 80D, Canon 100-400mm L IS USM, f5.6, 1/25, ISO 400, hand held.

I remember this scene. Suddenly we found this lovely scene close to the lake. The kid was remaining in the dense vegetation and was all the time calling for food. The mom used to come and feed it. I wonder what kind of metabolic rate the small chicks have as they are voracious eaters and grow very fast.

The angled branch and the mom perched higher and the kid kind of slouching and seeking food all adds to the composition. Looks nice.
