Default A Barking Deer at Kabini!

There were 2 Barking Deers but both of them veered off into a thicket quickly.....at least got one shot of one of them!

    Canon 80D,Canon 100-400 IS II USM,f5.6,1/160, ISO 125 at 400 mm

You clicked when the barking deer was turning its head. And your shutter speed of 1/160 was not sufficient to arrest the subject movement.

While clicking first press the shutter button slightly so that the camera focuses and then click. If the AF point falls somewhere else, then quickly changing the AF point will help. When the subject is in vegetation slightly changing the lens focus ring manually helps the camera acquire the focus.

Very shy species so can be missed easily. A slight higher ISO would have helped to arrest the motion. Liked the head turn and the eye contact. Yoi hadsome nice sighting in Kabini this time . Thanks for sharing.
