Nice to see this adolescent grazing peacefully. Difficult lighting conditions, you were already using ISO 4000, still the shutter speed was only 1/30. Some deers can be seen in the background, they might be feeling safe close to the elephants. Thanks for sharing.

Elephants often break branches and bring lot of leaves, fruits etc down and other herbivores benefit from it. While clicking an elephant, it is important to give some space to it else psychologically it feels as if the elephant is constrained from all sides. Of course that is an issue for elephants in reality as elephants are struggling to move in their traditional migratory paths. Nevertheless, a wider frame always looks nice. And if we create an image with elephant much smaller in scale, then it can indicate the vastness of the landscape. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image. Is it not the female elephant of the herd which moves behind alone keeping a distance from the herd for guarding baby(ies) of the herd?
Most of human casualties take place if a person comes in between. Rear guard is provided by a senior lady, this one is an adolescent, as Madam Mrudul has mentioned, so I can not exactly say its role.

    Thanks for sharing.

An environmental composition would have presented greater interest especially one that tells a story .As elephants are generally social animals and a composition including others in the herd in some form of interaction would bring life into a composition .Thanks for sharing .
