Beautiful bird, such amazing colours. Loved the details and the sharpness. Congrats on the new gear. Look forward to more from the trip. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! What colours! Who will not fall in love with this bird? I would love to see the bird in its habitat with a bit of wide angle. Also, if you have any vertical shot then please post. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
PS: I would love to hear your experiences in Latpanchar

    Thanks Sabyasachi....

I was fortunate to get many shots of this bird, including mating shots. I will post some of them here. However, getting those shots was a challanging task for me. I had to go down the hill for quite a distance through very dense jungle. It seemed impossible to climb up again to my lodge.....need a regular exercise...

I can't reiterate enough that safety is very important. At times to get an unique shot we forget that our life and limb can be in danger. So best is to take a deep breath and decide if we can safely get the shot and then proceed. We make mistakes when fatigue sets in.

You are absolutely right. I didn't know how far I needed to walk to see that bird. I had similar and worse experience at Chandrataal lake.
