Default And with a hop it flew off

    ID: Common awl

Usually known to be sensitive to light, these skippers are a very difficult subject, at times, to frame with a flash. This particular one was spotted feasting on the flower and with the firing of the flash it almost hopped off and disappeared in the dimly lit garden area.

    EXIF:
    Canon 80D
    Canon 100mm macro
    F/10
    Shutterspeed 1/200
    ISO 500
    Handheld, external flash fired

The wings give a sense of motion. May be a bit wider to cover the entire flower would be nice. I think the depth of field doesn't cover the moth. Thanks for sharing.

Good that the head and eye area is in good focus. The shape of the flower is very nice, agree including it fully would have enhanced the composition further. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.
