Originally caputured in RAW mode. Have experimented with monochrome through DPP. Somehow I feel the lattice adds a unique dimension to the capture.

MangalaJodi is a unique habitat. A lesser known cousin of the fabled Chilika, the place was till recently notorious for bird poaching. Its been close to a decade or so when a dramatic change took place. The poachers were convinced (evangelized by Mr Nanda Kishore Bhujabal) to protect the birds. Mangalajodi has since slowly but surely been attracting its original residents.

But still, I could sense a certain level of high alertness with the birds. The slightest of movement makes the birds zoom away. With strong conservation and less fear of poaching, I hope time heals this heightened "survival" instinct from the birds. Nevertheless I strongly recommend a visit to Mangalajodi for witnessing birds with their instincts intact, unlike certain other bird sanctuaries where the feeling of birds in cage is overpowering.
